Artist Statement

As an oil portrait artist, my work is an exploration of human identity and emotions. I use traditional techniques and materials to capture the essence of my subjects, exploring the nuances of the human face and form. Each stroke of my brush is an attempt to convey the unique spirit of the individual, capturing a moment in time and preserving it for generations to come.

My portraits are not just a representation of physical appearance, but a reflection of the emotional and psychological makeup of my subjects. Through the use of color, light and shadow, I aim to create a sense of depth and dimensionality, allowing the viewer to connect with my subjects on a deeper level.

My passion for portraiture stems from a belief that every individual has a story to tell, and it is my responsibility as an artist to bring that story to life. Whether I am painting a historical figure, a loved one, or a stranger, I approach each subject with the same level of respect and reverence.

In my work, I strive to create an intimate connection between my subjects and the viewer, encouraging them to see the world through the eyes of another and to experience the depth of human emotions in a new way. Whether displayed on a gallery wall or hanging in a family home, my portraits are a celebration of the human spirit and the enduring beauty of the human form.
